Is it safe to post videos on youtube?

I love watching youtube videos about "Gurus" and I would love to be one myself. My question is, is it safe? I would be very careful. I wouldn't even say my first name or give out any personal information nor would I show any objects from my home town (unless they were clothes from nationwide stores). What do you think? Honest answers please.
